A picture NOW?!?&#8221;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The first of the final, let&#8217;s-be-absolutely-sure tests was a &#8220;Video EEG&#8221;. This means that Rachel checks into the hospital, gets wired up with electrodes, gets a video pointed at her 24\/7 (except for bathroom trips), and waits to have seizures.<\/p>\n<p>One tricky part: they want a parent there at all times to push a button to time-stamp her seizures. Next tricky part: not all rooms are private rooms; some of them have noisy unhappy children on the other side of a curtain. Third tricky part: the parent&#8217;s &#8220;bed&#8221; is a bench with a cushion and a sheet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_153\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-153\" style=\"width: 225px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.epilepsy.cliftfam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_8755-e1416293894988.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-153 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.epilepsy.cliftfam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/IMG_8755-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8755\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-153\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sometimes the seizures knock her out<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Luckily, Rachel is really good a forcing a seizure when she needs to. She would\u00a0lie down, get quiet and peaceful, and start to breathe slowly and deeply.
